A lawyer has not signed this off yet. It was written by the people who built Pumo, it describes what the software actually does today, and a qualified adviser in Oman and in Estonia has to review it before it is final. Nothing on this page is legal advice.
How the adviser works, and what it will not do
The adviser is software, it is free, and it answers in English or Arabic. This page is the whole of how it works, because a tool you are going to trust about your animal should be one you can check rather than one you have to believe.

Article 50 of the EU AI Act, in one sentence
You are interacting with an artificial intelligence system, not a person. That line sits on the adviser itself, visibly, in both languages, and it is not tucked behind a tooltip or a link nobody opens. Brainy Circles OÜ is an Estonian provider, the obligation has applied since 2 August 2026, and the sentence would be there regardless.
It is an automated information tool that uses artificial intelligence. You are not talking to a person.
It is not a substitute for veterinary care. It does not diagnose, it does not prescribe, and it cannot examine your animal.
What it is, in four lines
- An automated assistant that reads what you typed and answers in the language you typed it in.
- A calculator for the parts that are arithmetic: how much a 4 kg indoor cat eats in a day, how many weeks until a date already on the calendar, what a weight series does over six months.
- A directory that hands you a real clinic or shop with a number a human has actually dialled and heard answered.
- A place to keep your pet's file, so the second answer is better than the first and the tenth is better than the second.
What it is not, in four lines
- It is not a veterinarian, it is not supervised by one in the moment you are typing, and it is not a substitute for either.
- It does not diagnose, it does not name what your animal has, and it never suggests a medicine, a dose or a treatment.
- It cannot see, hear, touch or weigh your animal, and most of what a vet concludes comes from exactly those four things.
- It is not an emergency service. It cannot phone anyone for you and it does not know where you are.
Every number comes from WSAVA, ESCCAP and AAFP, not from the model
This is the part most people assume works the other way around, so it is worth being exact. A language model is good at sentences and unreliable at arithmetic, and a confidently wrong feeding number harms an animal slowly enough that nobody notices for months. So the model is not allowed to produce one.
- Food quantities come from an energy table in ordinary code, with a published source named in the file next to every multiplier, and a guard that throws rather than guessing when the inputs are outside the range the table covers.
- Dates and intervals come from a fixed schedule built on the WSAVA 2024 vaccination guidelines, ESCCAP Guideline 01, the Companion Animal Parasite Council, the AAFP 2021 feline life stage guidelines and the AAHA 2019 canine ones.
- Two species in that schedule have a deliberately empty list, because we could not name a source we trusted and leaving the line out is more honest than filling it.
- The model receives the number that the code produced and writes the sentence around it. If the code returns nothing, the adviser says it does not know, which is a sentence it is allowed to say.
- No drug, no dose and no brand of medicine appears anywhere in that schedule. An interval is a calendar fact. A dose belongs to the vet holding the animal.
Every number it gives you about food quantity, weight or a due date is calculated in ordinary code from published veterinary guidance. The language model writes the sentence around the number. It is never allowed to work the number out.
Say the word blood, and no model runs at all
Before anything is sent anywhere, what you typed is read by a plain piece of matching code against a list of symptom words in English, Arabic and Arabizi. If one of them is in there, the adviser stops, the model is never called, and you get a clinic instead of an opinion. Safety that lives in a prompt is a suggestion. This one lives in code, runs first, and costs nothing to be certain about.
- Vomiting, diarrhoea, blood, limping, a fracture, not eating, not drinking, a seizure, a collapse, poison, something swallowed, pregnancy and labour, breathing trouble, a wound, swelling and fever are all on the list.
- The Arabic side matches stems as well as whole words, because Arabic inflects at both ends of a word and a list of exact forms would miss most of what people actually type.
- When it trips, the answer carries no recommendation, no product and no sponsored card of any kind.
- It over-triggers on purpose. Being sent to a vet you did not need is a wasted afternoon. The other mistake is not a wasted afternoon.
If your message describes a symptom, the adviser stops before it reaches the model at all. You get a vet, not an opinion.
What reaches Amazon Bedrock, and what never does
The adviser calls a model hosted on Amazon Bedrock. Exactly this much of your life goes with the question, and the split is enforced in the code that builds the request, not in a policy somebody remembers to follow.

Sent with the question
- The species, the life stage, and for a dog the size band.
- What you came for: food, treats, litter, toys, grooming.
- The note you typed, capped at 500 characters, after the symptom screen has already cleared it.
- The candidate products or clinics that our own code selected first, so the model chooses from a list rather than inventing from memory.
Never sent, in any request
- Your name, your email address and your phone number.
- Your precise location. The furthest we go is a governorate, and only if you told us one.
- Your IP address. The route sees it, truncates it to a coarse prefix to stop one machine draining the daily budget, and stores none of it.
- Your pet's file, unless you attached that pet to the question yourself.
- Anything at all from another conversation.
Your pet's details go to the model. Your name, your email, your phone number and your exact location do not, ever.
Life stage, lifestyle and species: three things it may use
The adviser reasons from those three and nothing else. It will happily tell you that a nine month old indoor cat eats differently from a six year old one, and it will tell you what a published calendar says is due in March. It will not tell you what to give an animal because of a condition it has, and it will not argue with a vet who has seen your animal. That is not caution about being sued, it is the actual line: recommending against a named condition is the practice of veterinary medicine, and the adviser is not a vet.
A sponsored card carries a label, and zero of them reach the symptom screen
Some answers about food and supplements can carry a paid card. It is labelled Sponsored above the card, never inside the recommendation, and it is stored in a different table from the listings so the ranking cannot quietly become an auction under revenue pressure in month nine. On the symptom path there is no paid content at all, and there is no version of this product where a frightened owner at midnight is shown an advertisement.
When it is wrong, one message to Sareh fixes it
It will be wrong sometimes. When it is, tell us what you asked and what it said, and the fix is usually a line in the code that produces the number rather than a nudge in a prompt. A wrong answer that gets corrected in the table is corrected for everyone who asks after you.

At two in the morning, call a clinic, do not type
If your animal is collapsed, bleeding, struggling to breathe, fitting, has swallowed something it should not have, or has simply stopped being itself in a way that frightens you, close this and phone a veterinary clinic. Every minute spent describing it to software is a minute not spent in a car. The adviser will tell you the same thing, and it would rather you had never opened it.
